About the artist

My work incorporates imagery, 3D elements, and bright colors on ceramic forms to explore memories and defining what home is. The pieces are wheel thrown functional ware made with white stoneware/porcelain, clear glaze and color velvet underglazes. Whether home is something built with the people around you, a specific place, or one’s own self. As a kid, home was the biggest feeling I was trying to understand. Now I can finally dive into my emotions and experiences with my work. I typically use thrown ceramic forms as my canvas and a hand-built element (the chains) to the exterior as an added extension of what I am saying in each piece. I believe that I can break barriers of what it means to be an artist by making art that relates to experiences myself and the viewer have gone through.
